LIFE UNDER MOUNT BARTLE FRERE
Artist quality acrylic on timber panel
Art sealed with a satin finish
279 x 356mm
Bartle Frere is the highest mountain (1.611m) in Queensland. Spending some time in far North Queensland this year, I came across this scene, it was late in the afternoon when heavy clouds obscure the top of the mountain.
What could be seen of Bartle Frere seemed almost black, the tropical grass was almost fluorescent green. The wet tropics can often have the most dramatic colours in the landscape.
The Queenslander house was as rugged as it surrounds.
